If you want to perform at a high level—in business, relationships, or life—you need consistency.
Travel isn’t an excuse to fall off. It’s a reason to lock in even deeper.
I travel every single week for work. And I’ve built my entire fitness and nutrition plan to be bulletproof—no matter the city, no matter the time zone. Here’s how I do it.
Build Your Travel Around Your Non-Negotiables
My travel schedule doesn’t dictate my routine.
My routine dictates how I travel.
Every trip I book, I check:
Where’s the nearest Planet Fitness? (There’s always one within 12 minutes—every city.) Are there Whole Foods or Sprouts nearby? Any meal prep stores in the area? (Think Snap Kitchen, My Fit Foods, or a local gem.)
I plan ahead. Period. Because failure to plan is planning to fall off.
Nutrition First — Always
Travel doesn’t mean junk food, bloating, or excuses.
Here’s how I eat clean on the go:
I pack all my supplements and powders in travel-friendly containers. I skip the bread at restaurants (and ask them not to bring it). I drink bottled water, not soda or sweet tea. I order lean proteins, and I ask for no butter, no oil. I find meal prep stores for easy high-protein options. Every city has one if you look.
If your goals matter, you’ll stay ready—no matter where you are.
Social Situations: Be the Standard, Not the Victim
When I go out with coworkers, clients, or friends:
I don’t stay out late. I say, “I’ve got training in the morning.” I use my goals as a reason, not an excuse.
People respect it.
And if they don’t?
Maybe they’re not the people I need to build with.
Cardio + Movement: No Gym? No Problem
There is always a way to move.
Most hotels have cardio equipment. If they don’t, they have stairs—your private training zone. I bring a dark pair of training shoes in every suitcase. I scout parks, trails, or open spaces nearby on Google Maps. I walk. I breathe. I stay active. Even on rest days, active rest is non-negotiable.
The Real Key? Routine Never Changes.
Your city might change.
Your time zone might change.
But your standard doesn’t.
I don’t adapt my plan to my environment.
I hold my plan steady—and let my environment adapt to me.
Morning routine stays the same. Training days stay the same. Meals stay the same (with local adjustments). Mindset? Always on.
My Go-To Travel Fitness Formula
Here’s the cheat code if you’re serious about staying fit while traveling:
Planet Fitness app (find the nearest gym instantly) Google Maps “meal prep” search for easy local food Supplements packed (protein, greens, magnesium, creatine) Restaurant script: “Lean protein, no butter, no oil. No bread, please.” Dark shoes, walkable outfits, and mobility gear in your bag Planned workouts, not hopeful wishes
Final Word: No Excuses. Just Standards.
If you truly want to win in midlife, there’s no room for “I’ll get back on track next week.”
You’re either living the standard or drifting from it.
Travel doesn’t derail me.
It sharpens me.
Because when you remove the comforts, the real you shows up.
